They came at the appointed time. When they didn't have everything to do the work I added, the necessary material was delivered while they completed the original work order.

They were clean, conscientious and polite. And they got everything done quickly.

The worst. They sent me his bio, Ordained Minister, when he arrived he was a part-time bouncer at the jetty and pretty lazy electrician at best. I paid him the 89 dollars, and never even received a quote. John C.

We had an issue with the electrical panel. It has been a nightmare.

The pros:
-Service provided the same day
-Electrician was professional

The cons:
-The cost. I showed the Chesapeake Electric invoice to 3 different master electricians who shared that the total cost should have been between $3500-$4000. We were charged $8500! Double what others in the industry thought we should have been charged.
-Poor customer service. I called 4 times and left a message with customer service that I had concerns with price gouging and never received a response. I only received a response when I repeatedly asked to escalate my concerns.
-Duplicate charges. When I brought my concerns to the COO, she shared that upon further review of my charges, I was double charged for the electrical permit application & coordination but that everything else was fair in their opinion. I have not received a credit yet for the duplicate charge.
-Incomplete work. I have a cut cable with a contractor bag sticking out from the side of my house.

I usually write positive reviews and refrain from writing negative posts but I know I would want to know this information if I was considering Chesapeake Electric. I would look elsewhere, there are too many other options out there!

I am updating my review to reflect the efforts of leadership to resolve my issue. While I still feel pricing is high and unfortunately, the third opportunity to improve relationship with one of their subcontractors was unsuccessful, I respect this business and their apparent commitment to striving to provide a quality service. They took the time to listen to me and Courtney made me feel genuinely respected as a customer.

Jimmy arrived on time to diagnose the switch problem with my porch and yard light. He not only replaced the problem switch and pointed out how the previous switch may have been installed better which he corrected. He also took the time to check the wiring on the porch light and yard light - finding them
In good order but making suggestions going forward. He also took the time to advise on two other future electric issues in the home. Would definitely contact Chesapeake for my future electrical needs!

Chesapeake Electric sent a worker, Logan W, to my home in Columbia MD to check old smoke alarm detectors . This was on or about Sept. 27, 2023. They set me up for service on the same day. The worker, Logan W arrived promptly, was very courteous, patient with me (an old lady) , and communicated very well, responding to all my questions and volunteering information. He replaced my two existing smoke detectors and advised me of code requirements for additional devices. So far I have no complaints. Logan told me I would receive email summarizing the work done, prices recommendations and estimates for additional work. I have not yet received the email but I don't know whether he was at fault or not for that. Price for work was $540.00, expensive, but I lack information to compare with other companies. I would recommend this company and Logan W. Price.

Quick response to address my issue. On time and very professional. Tech explained the problem. It took an hour to fix the issue with multiple parts needed. Labor rate was $214 but the parts costs were a lot higher than I expected.

We ran out of power and Chesapeake Electric brought us a generator to use for several days while we got our panel upgraded. While they were there, they also hung a ceiling fan. Thank you Chesapeake Electric for your excellent customer service!!

Tony and Cristian did an awesome job at my house.

I just bought a 30 year old townhome, and it was missing recess lights in the bedrooms / had a litany of miscellaneous electrical issues.

They installed 3 ceiling fans at my place without causing any drywall damage, and fixed every problem on my home inspection list.

I can't recommend these guys more. Great work at a fair price.

Power went out in one of our rooms. Reached out to several companies over the weekend and they were the first to respond Monday morning. Lucky they had availability to come out the same day. Electrician came and didn't leave until he found the root of the problem - an outlet that was wired / installed incorrectly (photos of old outlet attached). Promptly replaced and we're back in business. Lifesaver! Also very professional with shoe covers the whole time and vacuum in hand to clean up afterwards. Highly highly recommend! Will not hesitate to contact them again for our electrical needs in the future.
